Class Expectations
Throughout the year one of the main objectives I would like to see my students accomplish is to become responsible for their work. To achieve this they must begin to acknowledge the importance of having good work habits and organizational skills, which will help them succeed in all following grades to come. I strongly believe that in order for school to be a success, the teacher, the student, and the parent(s) must work together. Students are not expected to do it alone. A regular homework time should be established that is mutually convenient. This time should not vary.
Class Expectations:
1. Be on Time – be organized with all of your homework, forms, permission slips, planner and any other materials by the time the bell rings
2. Be Prepared- have your home planner initialed by your parent/guardian each night, and bring it to school each day. This is a part of your Health and Career program and consistent use of the school planner daily helps build organization skills. ` Please have your parent/guardian write any notes or comments directly into the planner rather than on a slip of paper.
3. Complete the Work – stay on task in the classroom and work to the best of your ability. Daily class work and homework assignments are expected to be completed on time and with good effort. Assignments will not be accepted until they show effort and follow criteria. If an assignment comes in that does not meet these standards it will be given back and will need to be redone.
4. Show Respect – obey the school rules; behave appropriately in class, around the school and during any school related event; care for and respect school materials and personal belongings.
5. Homework- expect regular assignments to be given throughout the week. Students will be given class time to complete assignments and are encouraged to use their class time effectively in order to minimize the amount of homework they need to complete at home. You should not spend more than 1 hour of focused time a day on homework. If this is not the case please come and talk to me and we can come up with strategies to help you become more successful with assignment completion. Special projects will involve working on the weekends throughout the year.
